Dr. Alley Flood

Dr. Alley Flood earned her bachelor's degree in Animal Sciences from Louisiana State University in 2016 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from LSU's School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021.

While she loves all things feline medicine, she has a particular passion for dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology, and behavior.

Dr. Flood's approach to care begins with meeting Cats and Cat Parents where they are. She pays close attention to a Cat's body language, respects their boundaries, and believes Cats should have a voice in how they experience veterinary care. She brings that same understanding to Cat Parents, taking time to discuss options without judgment, guilt, or pressure. Her goal is to work together to find a plan that makes sense for both the Cat and the person who loves them.

For Alley, CatsOnly is the kind of veterinary practice she had been looking for for years. She always wanted to practice feline-only medicine, but equally important was finding a place that genuinely understands Cats and allows their needs and behavior to guide care.

At home, Dr. Flood shares her life with Milo, her 13-year-old Ragdoll and constant shadow. He sleeps beside her every night and has been through quite a bit medically, including kidney disease and successfully overcoming feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). As Dr. Flood puts it, Milo is now required to live another 20 years!

When she isn't caring for Cats, Dr. FLood loves reading fantasy books and birdwatching. Her favorite bird is the northern flicker, and she's lucky enough to have a family of them living in her backyard.
