Courtney Schauer

Born and raised in Colorado, Courtney brings a deep connection to the Denver community to her role at CatsOnly. She earned her degree in marketing from the University of Colorado Boulder and now combines that background with her love for Cats to help build a strong local community around CatsOnly.

Courtney leads community engagement, building relationships with local shelters, rescues, businesses, and brands while creating opportunities for Cat Parents to connect with CatsOnly and one another.

She also leads CatsOnly’s social media and local events, helping bring the CatsOnly experience beyond the hospital and into the broader feline community. Her own connection to Cats began when an impromptu trip to an animal shelter led her to Gouda, a senior orange-and-white Cat who climbed out of his bed and straight into her lap. Gouda became her soul Cat and sparked a much deeper interest in the species, their needs, and the care they deserve.

For Courtney, being part of CatsOnly is an opportunity to keep learning about Cats, bring that knowledge home to Gouda, and share it with other Cat Parents in ways that can improve the lives of even more Cats. Gouda remains at the center of Courtney’s world. He greets her at the door, sleeps on her pillow, boops her nose in the morning, supervises her work from her lap, and is highly motivated by anything involving food.

Outside of CatsOnly, Courtney loves camping, live music, trying new food, and hula hooping.
