Alex Emerson

Alex is an entrepreneur, strategist, and operator who has spent the past decade building and scaling businesses across animal health, technology, and biotechnology.

He has founded three companies and worked across new market development, commercialization, strategic partnerships, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and business development.

Throughout his career, Alex has developed a knack for taking ambitious ideas and turning them into the systems, partnerships, and plans needed to make them real. At CatsOnly, Alex helps turn the organization’s growth strategy into action. His work spans expansion and new hospital development, operations and process improvement, financial modeling and business analysis, external partnerships, and organizational performance. He works across the company to help solve complex problems, build scalable systems, and make sure CatsOnly can grow thoughtfully without losing what makes the model different.

As a Cat Dad himself, that growth is personal to Alex. He believes Cats deserve care that recognizes their individuality and the relationship they have with the people who love them. For him, building CatsOnly means making exceptional feline care accessible to more Cats and giving more Cat Parents a place where they feel understood, supported, and confident in the care their Cat receives.

Alex shares his life with Beecher, a two-year-old rescue from Cat Care Society who has quickly become the center of his world. Beecher starts his mornings watching the sunrise and greeting the birds from the patio, plays hide-and-seek, and has learned an impressive collection of tricks, including sit, spin, loaf, shake, and kiss. Lately, he can often be found cruising in his Cat stroller on sunset walks, chirping and trilling at the neighborhood birds and bunnies along the way.

Outside of CatsOnly, Alex loves music, especially jazz, and began learning piano after watching his younger brother Ethan teach himself to play. One of Alex’s long-term goals is to learn the music he grew up loving and make the brother who inspired him proud.
